David Green and Craig Riddell Appointed IRPP Research Fellows

February 24, 2014 | Tagged: Awards, David A. Green, Faculty, News, Research, Vancouver School of Economics, VSE, W. Craig Riddell

Congratulations to professors David Green and Craig Riddell on their appointments as research fellows of the Institute for Research on Public Policy (IRPP). Research fellows contribute to the IRPP’s programs by providing advice and counsel on strategic research directions.

In this role, they are co-directing the IRPP-Canadian Labour Market and Skills Researcher Network (CLSRN) research initiative on the causes and policy implications of growing income inequality in Canada. Together, they bring a wealth of expertise to the initiative, with their work on determinants of the wage and employment structure, skills formation, immigration and inequality.

Professor David Green

David Green is a professor in the Vancouver School of Economics and an international fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies in London, England. His research interests centre around determinants of the wage and employment structure. In his recent work, this has entailed bridging between macro labour (worrying about general equilibrium effects) and micro labour identification issues.

Craig Riddell is Royal Bank Faculty Research Professor in the Vancouver School of Economics, academic director of the CLSRN, and a Research Fellow of the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) and the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration (CReAM).

Professor Craig Riddell

Professor Craig Riddell

Craig currently serves on Statistics Canada’s Advisory Committee on Labour and Income Statistics and on the Board of Directors of the Centre for the Study of Living Standards. In 2012, he was the recipient of the Mike McCracken Award for Economic Statistics for contributions to the development and use of labour market data. His teaching and research interests are in labour economics, labour relations and public policy. His current research focuses on education, skills formation, immigration, unemployment, unemployment insurance, and inequality.
