The Vancouver School of Economics is ranked first in Canada and among the top 25 in the world for research productivity, based on the quality and impact of research done by faculty and students.
Another indication of the school’s strength in research is that nine faculty members (Siwan Anderson, Matilde Bombardini, Mauricio Drelichman, Nicole Fortin, Patrick Francois, John Helliwell, Joseph Henrich, Marit Rehavi, and Francesco Trebbi) are affiliated with the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR). This is an elite research group that brings together leading researchers from across Canada and around the world to work collaboratively.
